European style in Muroran

このグリーンを見ると、明治・大正期に建てられたヨーロッパ風の建物を連想します。
When I see green like this, I imagine the buildings built in Meiji or Taisho period ( 100~150 years ago).

 この建物は、１９１５年に「三菱合資会社（現・三菱商事）」の事務所として建てられた建物で、今年で築９９年を迎えます。現在は、ある会社の事務所&キャンドルショップとなっています。
It was built in 1915 (99 years old), as a office of Mitsubishi company (now it is Mitsubishi Cooperation). Now it is a office of the other company and candle shop.

 わが故郷、室蘭はかつて北海道の炭坑で採掘された石炭を積み出す港として栄えた港湾都市です。北海道内では函館・小樽と並んで、日本の近代化において重要な役目を担った街でした。だからこそ、三菱商事のような大会社も拠点を置いたのですね。

室蘭がある絵鞆半島の先端付近、室蘭市緑町にあります。JR室蘭駅からは徒歩２０分くらいですので、お近くの方はぜひ足をお運びください。

ちなみに、この建物は耐震強度の問題で取り壊しの危機に瀕しています。

My hometown Muroran is the harbor city and had prospered to ship off the coal produced in the central Hokkaido. It was one of the most important city for modernization of Japan like Hakodate and Otaru.

So Mitsubishi company, such a big company, had a office in Muroran.

It is Midori-cho in Muroran, 20minutes walk from JR Muroran st.

And It might be broken because it is so old and dangerous when earthquake cause.
