ジブリアニメ「もののけ姫」のモデルとなった森は、屋久島にあります。
今日はその森がある、白谷雲水峡に行ってきました。全長約６kmほどです。
The Princess MONONOKE...it's a famous animation movie made by Hayao Miyazaki.
It was modeled on the forest of Yakushima, Shiratani-Unsuikyo.
There are some paths , the longest one is nearly 6km.
曇り空のもと、森に入ってゆきました。
It was cloudy today.
この森には、樹齢1000年を超えるような杉がたくさん見られます。
屋久杉は油分が多く、腐りにくいのだそう。雨に濡れて表面がつやつやしています。
There are many ceder trees living over 1000 years.
And they include much oil, so their surface look glossy because they get wet.
切り株の上に、新たな生命が育っています。
On a stump, the other lives grow.
ときどき、川も渡ります。
sometimes, I go across the river.
降り出した雨は、滝のように幹を伝うほどの強さになりました。
The rain become stronger, the water run down as a waterfall.
右側の木、ヒメシャラ。この木が好きです。
